Harry Styles is reflecting on one of the first songs he wrote for his new album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.

The album drops on Friday (March 6), and sees the “Aperture” singer-songwriter getting personal about his life and his career.

During a recent interview, he spoke about the inspiration behind “Are You Listening Yet?”

“The oldest song on the record is ‘Are You Listening Yet?’” he explained to Zane Lowe.

The two then joked back and forth about the opening line “God knows your life is on the brink and your therapist’s well-fed.”

“That sounds like the musings of a madman on tour, trying to figure out what the f–k is going on. Like ‘my therapist is over here, well-fed.’ My favorite line. It’s so good,” Zane said.

“Harry‘s having a breakthrough…we’re good, let’s renovate,” he laughed.

“He’s on tour again, I’m moving. Need to move,” Harry added in jokingly.

“That was kind of at a time I was doing shows in New York. I was really like so in it and felt kind of thrashy. That song felt like a reaction to that,” Harry went on to say.

“And I think I like the you know the end refrain of ‘are you listening yet?’ over and over again. It’s like, by the time you are listening…it’s finished.”
