Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayWith DC fans eagerly waiting for details on the Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, Hamish Linklater finally has an update on the release date window of the animated show. Linklater, who portrays the titular superhero in the Prime Video series, noted in a recent discussion that the follow-up edition of the Caped Crusader is currently in development before revealing the potential premiere schedule of the sequel season.
Hamish Linklater says Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 can release ‘sometime next year’
While speaking to MovieWeb about his role in the ongoing Gen V Season 2, Hamish Linklater disclosed that the much-awaited second installment of Batman: Caped Crusader should come out sometime in 2026.
“I don’t know when it’s coming back,” Linklater said of Season 2’s exact release date before adding, “Sometime next year, I think they’ll show it, but yeah, we’ve been working on it.”
Developed by Bruce Timm, Batman: Caped Crusader was first meant to come out on Max before the streaming giant decided to drop the series altogether. In March 2023, Amazon Prime Video acquired the distribution rights of the show, sanctioning a two-season order for the series, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Commenting on the prolonged delay in Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, Linklater jokingly stated that he has been bugging the creators to release the sequel for a long time. “I’m always like, ‘Hey, do you guys need some help with the drawing and stuff like that, you know, I got a set of number two [pencils] over here.’ They’re like, ‘We got this, Hamish, you just do the yap yap,'” the Gen V star stated.
In addition to Linklater, Caped Crusader also features a capable supporting cast, with actors such as Jason Watkins, Eric Morgan Stuart, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Jamie Chung, and Diedrich Bader, among others, lending their voices to the critically acclaimed series.
