Benny Blanco knows his heart wants what it wants.
The producer has been professing his love for fiancée, Selena Gomez, since they confirmed their relationship in late 2023. Now, the couple may be using their romance as muse for new music.
In a video posted on Gomez’s Instagram Stories Jan. 22, the singer filmed herself sitting in a recording studio. With headphones on, she showed a screen—which she later covered with a red heart emoji—surrounded by a few speakers, before turning the camera back to herself. She excitedly raised her brow, further hinting she’s probably working on something special.
Blanco—who collaborated with Gomez on her most recent track, “Single Soon”—shared the same clip on TikTok, drumming up speculation the two were creating music together. One fan echoed this theory in the comments section, writing: “When ur producer is also ur husband.”
Blanco didn’t confirm if his producer tag will be on Gomez’s new music, but he gave his fiancée a sweet compliment, “When ur wife is also Selena Gomez.”
This wasn’t the first time Blanco and Gomez, who got engaged in December after one year of dating, teased new music together. On Jan. 18, Blanco shared another TikTok of the Rare singer sitting in front of a microphone of the same home studio. This specific clip was made in response to a comment a fan left on his December 2024 video, where he celebrated Gomez’s 2015 single, “Kill ‘Em With Kindness”—the first song they collaborated on—going viral on TikTok 10 years after its release.
At the time, the fan wrote, “Benny please make some new songs for our queen.” Fast forward to now and this request might become a reality.
While the Only murders in the Building star is teasing new music, she has been placing her singing career on the back burner as of late. “I might be a little too old for the pop star life,” Gomez said in a December interview with Variety. “I think my music career is separate [from acting]. However, I don’t see that always being a forever thing professionally.”
The 32-year-old continued, “I think I’ll always have music in my life because my partner is a musician and I love singing, writing, and having moments to just do it for fun.”

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in July 2023, around Selena's birthday, Benny said on the Howard Stern Show in May 2024.
But they only began to spark romance rumors in late 2023. That December, Selena confirmed the speculation, commenting on a fan page's Instagram post, regarding Benny, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
She continued, "Why has he been the best thing that's ever happened to me. He's still better than anyone I've ever been with."
The Rare Beauty founder also shared a photo on her Instagram Story of her leaning her head on what looked to be Benny's chest.
