Resurrection' for Season 2, Character Details Revealed!

Brian Cox has joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection in a series regular role!

On Thursday (April 2), it was announced that the 79-year-old Emmy-winning Succession actor will be appearing in season two of the Paramount+ series.

Brian will be playing Dom Framt, aka The New York Ripper.

Keep reading to find out more…The character is described as “a serial killer who terrorized the City years ago. Though no longer active as a killer, he’s found a new way to live into his infamy by continuing to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree,” according to Variety.

The New York Ripper was originally introduced in season one, though he was not seen on-screen. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and then later Det. Claudette Wallace (Kadia Saraf), discovered a file on Dom Framt in the vault of Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) in season one, setting up a major storyline for season two.

Dexter: Resurrection, which premiered on Paramount+ in September 2025, followed the 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood. Michael confirmed the show had been renewed for a second season in October. The renewal news came after it was revealed that prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, which was originally renewed, is now not getting a second season.
