Brody Jenner and Tia Blanco had the sweetest inspiration for their daughter’s name.
The Hills alum revealed that he and Tia have the 2003 dance film Honey starring Jessica Alba to thank for their 17-month-old daughter Honey Raye Jenner’s name.
“She loved that movie, and I did too, actually. I watched it,” Brody shared on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show Jan. 22. “It's a great movie and I don't know for some reason, 'cause she had another name picked out, Honey just clicked.”
He continued, “She goes, ‘What about the name Honey?’ and I was kinda like, ‘I really like that.’ Just being able to call your daughter Honey. Her skin, it looks like, it's like honey.”
In the film, Jessica played Honey Daniels, a New York City dance instructor with big dreams of choreographing for some of the biggest names in hip-hop.
After welcoming their daughter in July 2023, Brody admitted that his little girl instantly danced her way into his heart and turned his world around.
“She's just, I mean, she's my world,” the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test star shared. “I'm just so in love. It's crazy. I never knew that I could love something this much.”
“I was telling somebody today, you know, I used to be that guy on the plane where, when I hear the baby's crying and I'm like, ‘Please shut that baby up.’ And now I'm that guy on the plane where if I hear somebody else's baby, I'm like, ‘It's okay. No, it's okay. Would you like me to help,’” he gushed. “It’s interesting how that works. You don't really understand until you have children, you know? It's just all of a sudden, you have this different outlook on children in general.”
Indeed, fatherhood has shifted his perspective on life.
“It gives you purpose and all of a sudden” he added. “I feel like I have real purpose, you know, and it's really been the most incredible thing.”
Brody also recently credited his relationship with his father Caitlyn Jenner for shaping the kind of father he would be with Honey.
“I look at it as a positive,” Brody—whose mom is Linda Thompson—explained about the period of his life when Caitlyn wasn’t present in an interview with People published Jan. 17. “She wasn't around for me growing up that much. I still saw her sometimes, she wasn’t completely absent, but I still say I definitely am going to be much more present as a father, and it taught me to be that, so I'm grateful for it.”
