As of tonight, the 2026 Cannes Film Festival has officially commenced in France, bringing with it the annual tradition of high-stakes red carpet elegance at the Grand Théâtre Lumière. The opening ceremony, led by French-Malian actress Eye Haïdara, also marked the formal presentation of this year’s jury—a historic committee presided over by Park Chan-wook, the first Korean jury president in the festival’s history, joined by Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Chloé Zhao, Diego Céspedes, Isaach De Bankolé, Paul Laverty, and Stellan Skarsgård. On the first day’s red carpet, select A-list arrivals immediately captured attention. Notable highlights included Emily in Paris star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu in an airy purple Saint Laurent gown by Antony Vaccarello, Demi Moore in a fitted sparkly Jacquemus frock, and many more.
