Charles Melton is opening about being a first-time dad!

The 35-year-old actor and his partner, Camille Summer-Valli, welcomed their first child, a baby girl, earlier this year.

In a new interview with Bustle, Charles shared how fatherhood has changed him and his life.

“I get so scared now,” he told the mag during the photo shoot, where he went out on a fire escape. “It’s crazy, after having a daughter, I’m kind of afraid of heights.”

On his new fear of heights, he says, “My stomach was tossing and turning because you’re not just living for yourself anymore… I want to be here for my daughter and not miss anything… I’m just like, ‘Uh, is it worth it for me to be on this fire escape for a photo shoot right now?’ … Just things have become clearer. I don’t know how to explain it.”

Charles also notes that he now feels “more sure in who I am today than, you know, five months ago before my daughter was born.”

While he and Camille keep their relationship quite private, he says she is “so talented.”

“I wish I had words to describe falling in love with the most wonderful person in the world,” he added after being asked if they were drawn together creatively.
