Cindy Crawford‘s only son, Presley Gerber, has reportedly passed away on September 20. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed publicly. He was an actor/model who appeared in limited videos and shows such as TODAY, Pepsi: This is the Pepsi, and The Wager.

Kaia Gerber’s older brother died at a rehab facility on Sunday

According to TMZ, Gerber, son of Crawford and businessman Rande, has died at the age of 27. He is also the brother of model and actress Kaia. His demise happened at a rehab facility, per Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records.

A representative for the Gerber family has issued a statement following the news. “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” they urged. The autopsy has not been completed.

Last year, Gerber opened up about his mental health struggles in an Instagram video. He said, “I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently. That is not an excuse, but it’s the reason—or part of—why I am where I’m at now.”

The actor admitted that he was taking several medications, including Valium and buprenorphine. Gerber added that he also took Xanax during severe panic attacks. However, he mentioned that he didn’t have clear guidance about the dosages.

He elaborated, “Every psychiatrist I’ve had—and I’ve had, like, 15—they’re all like, ‘Here’s 20 medications. Take this if you feel like this, take this as needed.’ And I’m like, ‘No, don’t give me that much leeway. I need some direction.” Gerber further noted that he had given up largely on drinking and was trying to surround himself with “good influences.”

The model stated that although he had people in Hollywood he “loved to death,” he tried to stay away from them. He also expressed his desire to help others and remind them that they were not alone in their mental health journey (via E! News).
