Craig Conover is speaking out his relationship with Paige DeSorbo in a new interview.

The 37-year-old Southern Charm star and the 33-year-old Giggly Squad co-host dated for three years before she ended things in late 2024.

They first met during her first season of Summer House in 2019 when Craig and some of his Southern Charm co-stars visited the share house for Kyle Cooke‘s birthday. However, they didn’t start dating until two years later after connecting on Winter House when they were both single.

During an appearance on the Wednesday (October 21) episode of the Comfort Food podcast with Kelly Rizzo, Craig talked about heartbreak, processing a public breakup, and what to do with the memories made during that relationship.

“I’ve only really had two serious girlfriends in the last 14 years or really ever,” Craig said.

“And one was a great, you know, time, and I got my company out of it. Basically inspired me to start my company,” he added, referring to his ex, Naomi Olindo, who was also on Southern Charm.

“And then in my last relationship, it was three amazing years of leveling up. Like, we inspired each other so much,” Craig continued, referring to Paige. “And unfortunately, people, their attention span only focuses on the breakups now. And breakups are never going to be pretty. Especially if you’re in a real relationship that had a lot of passion and love, and they forget that for three years, people can be really happy and accomplish so much.”

“And so, I was just forced to say it was right for that chapter of my life and something else will be right for the next chapter,” he added.

Craig Conover talks Paige DeSorbo breakup

Of their breakup, Craig mentioned that he’s the fixer of his friends and a problem solver.

“I think with the breakup, that was the hardest part, is there was nothing to fix. I knew that if something, I knew that it had gotten to a place where id did, where there’s no effort, there’s nothing you can do now,” he said. “And so you there’s nothing to fix. And I hedge so much in my life that there’s always a way out. And in this it just looked different than I had ever, you know, planned.”

But what he got out of the break up was he “reconnected with my family. Like we were all, I thought, we were all really close, but you get closer with your family. You get closer with your friends. And I don’t know, it really does add it. I’m in a place now with my career and stuff that who knows if I would have gotten and my physical, you build this relationship with yourself.”

“Like I’ve never made memories by myself before and I didn’t realize that was something I struggled with. Like I just started to travel by myself and it’s very uncomfortable for me.”

He was then asked if that was because he was just super busy with other things or always liked to do them with a partner.

Craig responded saying he always thought it was a shared experience and that was the only thing that counted as a memory. He shared that cooking and traveling was always something he thought didn’t count if he didn’t share it with someone else.

He later added that the breakup didn’t tarnish the two and a half years they had together, but also noted he wondered how do you replicate that?

“How do I get to another place where I have to meet someone else and then take them to do all the same things and like, when am I ever going to be in a place in my career where we level up together like that?” Craig said. “It was just like I really cherished that stuff and I was ruminating so much on it, and it’s bizarre but it really helped me.”

Of trying to move on, he says he turned to ChatGPT, which if you watch Southern Charm, you know that has been his go-to for advice for the last couple of years.

“I finally like was in my car and I just asked I explained it to ChatGPT. I was like this I can’t stop thinking about this and it’s starting to ruin my life, like I can’t, I don’t understand why but I cannot stop replaying this relationship over and over. And I said please help me with some tool that I can use today,” Craig said.

“And it said look Craig, that book of memories is never going to go away. It will always exist. But instead of having that book sitting on your nightstand so that it’s the first thing you visit in the morning and the last thing you visit at night, try moving it to the bookshelf across your room today. And so that you’re not constantly looking at it. It’s there if you need to go there. It’s there if you want to open the book. And then maybe next week we’ll move it into another room. And let’s constantly start moving that book of memories further away from you. It’ll always be in your house and it’ll always exist, but maybe we don’t have to look at it as much as we do now. And for me, it was applicable enough that I was able to execute that.”

“I was able to move on with my life that day. Like legitimately, it was the first day of the rest of my life when I started to be able to do that,” he added.

Following their breakup, Craig reacted to rumors that Paige cheated on him and revealed the exact timeline of when they broke up. He also said that he didn’t recognize who she was anymore and later that he felt betrayed by their breakup.

Craig will be back on TV soon, returning for the upcoming 12th season of Southern Charm on Bravo. Watch the trailer and meet the new and returning cast members!
