Ingredient Notes for Caesar Chicken Bake

- Chicken Breasts: Use boneless, skinless chicken breasts that are similar in size so they bake evenly. If some are thicker, give them a quick pound so everything cooks at the same rate.
- Caesar Salad Dressing: A creamy Caesar dressing works best since it bakes into a rich, flavorful sauce. Bottled dressing keeps things quick and easy, but homemade Caesar dressing works just as well.
- Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt: Sour cream makes the sauce rich and creamy, while Greek yogurt adds a lighter, tangy twist that works just as well.
- Italian Cheese Blend: This melts beautifully and gives the chicken a mild, cheesy topping. Mozzarella, Parmesan, provolone, or a mix of mozzarella and Parmesan all work.
- Croutons: Crushed croutons add a quick, crunchy topping with built-in seasoning. Garlic, Parmesan, herb, or Caesar-style croutons all work perfectly.
- Variations: Add a little Parmesan cheese over the Italian cheese for a sharper Caesar flavor. Add crushed red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne to the sauce for a spicier flavor.
How to Make Caesar Chicken Bake

- Top with cheese, then add the buttered crushed croutons and bake uncovered.
- Use an Instant-Read Meat Thermometer: This helps ensure the chicken is cooked through but not dry.
- Pound Thick Chicken Breasts: This keeps them an even thickness before baking.
- Choose a Creamy Dressing: Choose a creamy dressing since thinner vinaigrette-style dressings can make the sauce runny.
- Crush the Croutons Gently: Crush the croutons gently to ensure the topping has texture instead of fine crumbs.
- Let it Rest: Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Leftovers Made Easy
- Leftovers: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Freezing: Freeze cooled portions in airtight containers for up to 3 months. The crouton topping will soften after freezing, so add fresh crushed croutons before reheating for extra crunch.
- Reheating: Reheat in the microwave at 50% power or in a covered baking dish in the oven at 325°F until warmed through. Add a splash of broth, milk, or Caesar dressing if the sauce has thickened
