Demi Moore recently appeared at the New York Festival on October 25, where she took up a Q&A session. During the conversation, the 62-year-old shared a recollection from her time on the set of A Few Good Men. The actress mentioned that Tom Cruise seemed embarrassed by her pregnancy at the time.

Demi Moore on why Tom Cruise was ’embarrassed’ on A Few Good Men Set

Demi Moore shared during a Q&A session at the New Yorker festival that she was eight months pregnant when she began reading lines for A Few Good Men. During this time, as Moore met with the film’s director, Rob Reiner, and co-star Tom Cruise, she claims the latter seemed embarrassed when he learned of her pregnancy.

Moore said, “I think Tom was quite embarrassed. I actually felt okay about it.” Further, she added, “I was moving around, though, right? But I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward.”

At the time, Demi Moore was in her final trimester with her second child, Scout Willis. She went on to explain that back in the day, it was not ideal for a woman to focus on her acting career while also prioritizing being a mother. However, she seemed to think differently.

“It’s one of the many things, for me, that I just felt didn’t make sense. And so I challenged that to say, you know, ‘Why not? Why can’t you have both?” she said. However, she did also admit right after that she put a lot of pressure on herself in the process, especially to prove it was possible.

While Moore mentioned Cruise may have felt a bit awkward on learning about her pregnancy, she also spoke about how tough it was for women back then. She also talked about how actresses these days receive far more support when making such decisions. “I look back at that time now, and I go, ‘What the f— was I thinking?’ And what was I even trying to prove?”
