Benny Blanco just dropped his latest single, "Te Olvido (La La)," an upbeat Latin single with wife Selena Gomez and Becky G from his upcoming album Hermoso. And E! News has an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at their music video shot in Los Angeles and celebrating the city’s Chicano culture.
Not only does the video feature Benny, Selena and Becky, but you won’t be able to calm down after seeing cameos from familiar faces like actor Danny Trejo (who revises his signature Machete character with a more light-hearted twist) and legendary Mexican-American skateboarder Paul Rodriguez.
Ahead of the release of Hermoso—out Aug. 14—Blanco shared why this project is one of his greatest decisions.
“I grew up in an area with a large Latin population,” he told El Pais in a recent interview, “so that music has surrounded me since I was a child. You'd get in the car and Jeanette would be playing; in another car, cumbia would be on.”
In fact, those memories have long served as a backdrop for inspiration.

“I was always drawn to the drums,” he explained, “and how the rhythms interacted with each other. It's a culture that's always full of fresh ideas and people who aren't afraid to go against the grain.”

“All the Latin music that appeals to me has a bold edge,” the 38-year-old noted, “a grit, a certain aggression—that I think is sometimes lacking in traditional pop. I feel that pop music has stagnated in recent years and that no one is doing anything truly new.”

Blossoming Romance
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco began dating in July 2023, around Selena's birthday, Benny said on the Howard Stern Show in May 2024.
But they only began to spark romance rumors in late 2023. That December, Selena confirmed the speculation, commenting on a fan page's Instagram post, regarding Benny, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
She continued, "Why has he been the best thing that's ever happened to me. He's still better than anyone I've ever been with."
