Hailey — a.k.a. HVL to her fans — is a player for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky. She was the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 WNBA draft, and she previously played basketball all throughout high school and college.

Despite her ongoing success, Hailey struggled off the court. During a March 2025 interview in TCU’s locker room, the Washington native opened up about how difficult it was to be “exposed to the media and social media at such a young age.”

“When I was younger and in college, I was suicidal,” Hailey revealed, adding, “I was heavily medicated, and I felt trapped. And you would never know because I was having a ton of success on the court, but internally, and in life in general, I was ready to be done. And so, that’s what I mean when I speak on suffering and pain. It’s like I didn’t even want to live.”

Hailey Van Lith’s Boyfriend

Like Hailey, Jalen is a basketball player! He’s played for the NBA’s Orlando Magic since 2021. Previously, the Minnesota native played for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in college.

Hailey and Jalen have reportedly been dating since 2021, but the couple have remained tight-lipped about their relationship. However, in early 2025, Jalen was spotted in the stands with Hailey’s father cheering her on during March Madness.

Though she joked to People that she was “shaking her head” upon seeing the social media clip of her dad and boyfriend, Hailey told the outlet, “No I love it, it’s totally their personalities, and I’m so glad that the world gets to see their joy and passion.”
