With Only Murders in the Building Season 5 coming to an end, fans are hoping the trio will return for Season 6. While there is no official news, both Martin Short and Salena Gomez have some encouraging words about a possible Season 6.

Here’s what the actors said about the show’s future.

Is Only Murders in the Building canceled or renewed for Season 6?

Hulu has neither renewed nor canceled Only Murders in the Building for Season 6.

Only Murders in the Building is a whodunnit comedy series that features Steve Martin as Charles-Haden Savage, Martin Short as Oliver Putnam, and Salena Gomez as Mabel Mora in the lead roles.

Ever since its premiere, fans have taken a liking to the trio of amateur detectives, who try to solve the murders that occur in their building, The Arconia. After five successful seasons and several big-celebrity cameos, the show’s future is quite uncertain without any official news about renewal. With the show coming to an end this week, fans are expecting to learn some good news about the next season.

Fortunately, Short and Gomez believe that there is at least one more season (via USA Today).

“I really hope that I can just keep evolving Mabel as I get older, because I want to do this for a long time,” Gomez said, hopefully.

Meanwhile, Short revealed, “We believe we’re doing another season, we think so. But you have to live season by season. And even if it was canceled tomorrow, we would have to say, ‘We had a great, great run.’ … We loved what we were doing. It was a great way to spend five, six years.”

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 is focused on identifying the Lester, the Arconia doorman’s murderer. The season also featured Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Dianne Wiest, Keegan-Michael Key, Logan Lerman, and Christoph Waltz. And just like previous seasons, Meryl Streep reprised her role as Loretta Durkin in a few episodes.
