Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayHBO’s Task ended on a high note, and fans are already wondering whether it has been renewed or canceled for Season 2. Although the show is treated as a mini-series, the showrunner has shown optimism about the future of the series.
Here’s what the showrunner had to say about Task Season 2.
Is Task canceled or renewed for Season 2?
HBO has neither renewed nor canceled Task Season 2.
Created by Brad Ingelsby, Task is a gritty, police procedural drama focusing on an FBI agent, Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), and his team. They are tasked with bringing down a notorious group of robbers targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs.
However, things go from bad to worse when a robbery goes wrong, resulting in the deaths of Dark Hearts’ members. The gang, having secrets of their own, takes matters into their own hands to hunt down the robbers and retrieve what was stolen from them.
While the season ended with Episode 7, “A Still Small Voice,” fans are hoping to see more of the story. Fortunately, Ingelsby, the showrunner, also shares the same feelings. “I’d love to have a chance to do another season of Task,” he told Esquire.
He continued talking about the benefits of making a TV series as opposed to a movie. “What I love about TV is just how many characters you get to explore,” the writer explained. “I really see myself as a character writer and not a great plot writer. What I love about TV is that you get to explore the Grassos, the Lizzies, the Aleahs. If I was to do a movie, unless I was Robert Altman, I just wouldn’t be able to tap into that many characters.”
Brad Ingelsby is most popularly known for another HBO Original, Mare of Easttown, starring Kate Winslet. Task’s cast also includes Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Fabien Frankel, Thuso Mbedu, Alison Oliver, Jamie McShane, and Sam Keeley in the lead roles.
All 7 episodes of Task are now streaming on HBO Max.
