Apple TV+ has officially said yes to a Season 2 of The Studio. The Hollywood satire, which first premiered on March 25, has been a hit with audiences. Now, the streaming platform has confirmed that the chaotic behind-the-scenes antics of Continental Studios will continue. The announcement comes just ahead of the Season 1 finale, which is set to stream on May 7. Here are all the details.

Is The Studio Season 2 renewed or canceled by Apple TV+?

The quick green light for a Season 2 instead of cancelling signals Apple TV+’s confidence in The Studio. After all, it has steadily built a fan base with each episode. The series, which stars Seth Rogen as Matt Remick, the freshly appointed head of Continental Studios, takes a sharp, comedic look at the behind-the-scenes chaos of the film industry. It has been dubbed “relatable” by many.

Rogen, along with longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg, co-created the series through their Point Grey Pictures banner. In the announcement, the duo said, “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two. Then, repeating that loop for ten more seasons.” They further quipped, “And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”

According to Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s head of programming, The Studio’s blend of industry satire and iconic performances struck a chord. “Seth, Evan, the entire creative team and cast of ‘The Studio’ have knocked it out of the park. We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in season two.” (via Variety)

While the release date and specific plot details for The Studio Season 2 are still under wraps, fans can expect more outrageous boardroom drama, celebrity fights, and biting commentary on the current state of Hollywood. If Season 1 is any indication, the second round promises to dig even deeper into the absurdity of making movies in the modern age.
