Kristen Bell is hosting the 2026 Actor Awards, previously known as the SAG Awards.

Ahead of the ceremony on Sunday (March 1), the 45-year-old The Good Place actress spoke out about her hosting duties in a new interview, and what people should and shouldn’t expect.

“I don’t roast. It’s not in me. If I’m going to roast anyone, it’s going to be me. That’s what’s funniest to me. So it will be light and goofy and hopefully still make you laugh. But I want everyone to feel welcome,” she told Deadline.

As for addressing politics, she said: “It’s not my vibe. It never has been. Mainly because I wouldn’t do it well. I don’t really see the good that comes out of it. It doesn’t fall out of my mouth very well.”

“I have an aversion to mean jokes, so I call them goofs because it’s a slightly more playful name. So I’ll be goofing on people. You’d better bet your butt I’ll be goofing on people, but no one’s going to walk away with hurt feelings,” she added.

“I like hosting. I’m a mom. Literally, there’s going to be a play date here — what time is it? In less than an hour. So sometimes we got two, three, four, five, six girls over here. I have dinner parties. I like cooking a meal and putting up place mats and telling my guests, ‘Don’t worry about taking your shoes off. The house is a mess anyway. Just come in and enjoy yourself.’ I see the hosting gig as the same thing. I’m trying not to make it all about me. I’m trying to have it come through me a very welcoming atmosphere of, isn’t it crazy that we’re all here? Let’s celebrate.”

As for who she plans to goof on, she said: “I wouldn’t say there’s anyone I’m afraid to make a joke about, but understand that’s through the lens of my jokes are never going to tear a hole in your stomach. I have an aversion to mean jokes, so I call them goofs because it’s a slightly more playful name. So I’ll be goofing on people. You’d better bet your butt I’ll be goofing on people, but no one’s going to walk away with hurt feelings.”
