Katherine Heigl has been very vocal on social media for the past 24 hours and she has responded to some hate she received about Grey’s Anatomy.

The 47-year-old actress is best known for playing Dr. Izzie Stevens on the long-running ABC medical drama series from 2005 to 2010. She won an Emmy Award for her performance in 2007 and famously decided not to submit for the Emmys for season four, saying that she felt her material didn’t warrant consideration for awards.

Katherine has remained out of the spotlight for the past two years, but returned to the public eye to support a dog rescue organization during a charity event held at Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Katherine received criticism on social media for choosing to support an event held at Mar-a-Lago, with fans saying she could have chosen a different dog rescue organization to support.

Katherine released a statement to defend herself and also hit back at many comments left on our Just Jared Instagram post. Some of those comments included digs at her work on Grey’s.
