Keith Carradine Speaks Out on Brother Robert's Death, Says 'There Is No Shame' in Bipolar Disorder

Keith Carradine has released a statement following the death of his younger brother, Revenge of the Nerds and Lizzie McGuire actor Robert Carradine.

The family confirmed that Robert took his own life following a two-decade battle with Bipolar Disorder and they’re hoping that his death can erase the stigma attached to mental illness.

Keith explained why he wants people to know about Robert‘s struggle.

He told Deadline, “We want people to know it, and there is no shame in it. It is an illness that got the best of him, and I want to celebrate him for his struggle with it, and celebrate his beautiful soul. He was profoundly gifted, and we will miss him every day. We will take solace in how funny he could be, how wise and utterly accepting and tolerant he was. That’s who my baby brother was.”

Robert was the father of Handmaid’s Tale actress Ever Carradine.

We have sadly lost many stars already in 2026.
