Lil Nas X has announced some devastating news.

On Saturday morning (August 29), the 27-year-old “Old Town Road” rapper announced on Instagram that his mother Tameka Hill has sadly passed away.

“RIP TO THE BADDEST EVER!” he wrote while sharing a few photos of his mom from over the years. “LOVE U FOREVER MOMMY.”

“This one’s gonna hurt,” he added.

As of right now, no other details surrounding his mother’s death have been revealed.

In the past, Lil Nas X has opened up his complicated relationship with his mother, who struggled with addiction.

“I never really talk about my mom. She’s an addict so we don’t have the closest relationship,” he told Variety in 2020. “Even trying to get her better – things didn’t quite work out. But there’s still love…The biggest surprise of becoming globally famous? On the outside, everybody loves you – but on the inside, everything the same.”
