Nourished by Time is back with another new song from The Passionate Ones, his second project for XL, ahead of its release this summer. The new single, “9 2 5,” rides a beat inspired by Baltimore club music, and lyrically chronicles the emotional toll of a working-class artist who’s exhausted by their daytime job and the pursuit of their art at night. The Passionate Ones is out August 22 via XL. The follow-up to 2023’s Erotic Probiotic 2 and last year’s Catching Chickens EP is led by the single “Max Potential.” Nourished by Time—the alias of Baltimore singer, songwriter, and producer Marcus Brown—worked on the new album in his hometown, as well as in London and New York.

Nourished by Time just kicked off a months-long tour that brings the musician across the United States, Canada, and Europe, with shows lasting on through to the end of this year. Joining him on select tour dates are Zsela, Tony Bontana, Laura Groves, and Joviale.
