Dreaming of having your morning tea, while you soak in your own private pool during the upcoming long weekend? Then you’re in the right place.

When is the Eid Al Adha long weekend?

The UAE moon sighting committee has officially confirmed that Eid Al Adha 2026 will begin on Tuesday, May 26, which marks Arafat Day. The three days of Eid Al Adha will then follow on Wednesday, May 27, Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29. According to UAE public holiday law, this schedule creates a six-day break for the private sector, while school students and public sector workers can expect a nine-day holiday. The Ministry of Education and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources have already confirmed extended breaks for students and government employees, respectively. And have confirmed the 6 day long weekend for private sector employees, starting Tuesday, May 26 till Sunday May 31.

The confirmation came after the moon sighting committee spotted the crescent of Dhu Al Hijjah on the evening of Sunday, May 17, signaling the end of Dhu Al-Qa’dah (the 11th month of the Islamic Hijri calendar). Consequently, Monday, May 18, is the first day of Dhu Al Hijjah, the final month of the Hijri year. Arafat Day falls on Dhu Al Hijjah 9, and Eid Al Adha is observed on days 10, 11, and 12. Unlike the solar-based Gregorian calendar, the Islamic Hijri calendar relies on moon cycles, with months lasting either 29 or 30 days—determined only on the final day of each month. Under UAE law, Eid Al Adha is a three-day holiday, preceded by a separate day off for Arafat Day.

When looking for a villa with a private pool, consider factors such as location, amenities, reviews, and the type of experience you want. To end the day, guests can also unwind with a private dip in the moonlight. The serenity and privacy of a pool suite lets you relax in bliss, without any distractions or disruptions.

The entire staycation experience comes with high-end amenities and personalised services, making it ideal for couples, families, or groups seeking seclusion.

So, get ready to beat the heat and retreat into a rooftop jacuzzi, private plunge pool or secluded swimming bath at one of these luxe hotels. These villas offer a blend of privacy, luxury, and unique experiences, making them ideal for a memorable stay in Dubai.

Many of us want to escape Dubai, however the planning can become a tedious task. As it’s quiet over summer, taking a cityscape quick retreat can be easy without much planning. From Grecian-inspired havens such as Nikki Beach to more contemporary rustic villas such as Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf with the old-time dhow charm, the the options in this emirate are endless.
