Michael B. Jordan steps into the role of a master thief in the first teaser trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair. While the movie won’t arrive until next year, Amazon MGM Studios has given fans an early peek with new footage.

Jordan is also directing the film from a screenplay by Drew Pearce and Jason Hall, based on a story by Alan R. Trustman and Pearce. The film is an adaptation of Trustman’s original screenplay for the 1968 classic, which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway and was followed by Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo’s 1999 remake.

What happens in the Thomas Crown Affair teaser trailer?

The teaser trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair introduces billionaire Thomas Crown. He plans to steal a valuable painting while the police are busy with a different robbery. Crown reflects on the thrill of pulling off his latest heist.

The trailer also sets up the core conflict between Crown and the insurance investigator as both try to outsmart each other while falling for each other.

Jordan says, “I’ve been taking risks my entire life, but last night it was different. I felt alive. My heart was racing. Every step was part of a plan. Things slowed down. It was silent, and I was surprised how easy it was. But I’m not finished yet.”

The cast also features Adria Arjona, Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart. Arjona plays the insurance investigator, replacing Taylor Russell, who exited the project during production.

Amazon MGM Studios has described the film as a “visually stunning, emotionally charged heist thriller” in which the “most dangerous man in the room” is the one nobody saw coming.

The Thomas Crown Affair will hit theaters on March 5, 2027.
