Midori Francis Continues Stage Career After Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy,' Now Leading 'Sylvia Sylvia Sylvia' Play in Los Angeles

Midori Francis said goodbye to Grey’s Anatomy at the end of 2024 and she has been keeping a steady stage career ever since then, continuing with a new play in Los Angeles.

The 31-year-old actress is best known for playing Dr. Mika Yasuda on Grey’s and Alicia on The Sex Lives of College Girls.

Last year, Midori starred in the Off-Broadway production of Bus Stop in New York City and now she’s leading Geffen Playhouse’s production of Sylvia Sylvia Sylvia in Los Angeles.

Here’s the synopsis: “Sally, a once-celebrated novelist grappling with writer’s block and overshadowed by her husband Theo’s rising literary fame, seeks solace and inspiration in the iconic Boston apartment once inhabited by Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. But when eerie encounters begin to blur the line between inspiration and madness, Sally is forced to question what’s real, what’s imagined, and what her art may truly cost her.”

Midori told Rafu.com, “I connected so much with Sally. I was so excited that I actually took my binder home and I put it under my bed. I couldn’t let it go. I really, really loved it.”

The play, written by Beth Hyland, is running at the Geffen through March 8. Get tickets now!
