Nick Offerman‘s new animated comedy movie has emerged as a streaming hit. Shortly after its arrival on the platform, it quickly climbed to the top of the charts, surpassing other big titles.

Nick Offerman’s The Pout-Pout Fish is a streaming hit

As of June 11, 2026, The Pout-Pout Fish is the #2 movie on Prime Video, surpassed only by Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, according to FlixPatrol data.

However, it outperforms all other films on the top 10 list. This includes Despicable Me 4, Battleship, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Norbit, Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1, When Luxury Cruises Go Horribly Wrong, Major Payne, and One Battle After Another.

Further, it is the #8 title overall, beating out only the animated series, The Legend of Vox Machina, and Despicable Me 4, but outranked by others on the list, including Off Campus, Every Year After, and Spider-Noir.

The film was released theatrically in the United States on March 20. Directed by Ricard Cussó from Elise Allen, Elie Choufany, and Dominic Morris’ screenplay, it is based on Deborah Diesen’s book of the same name.

Following its release, the feature, reportedly made on a budget of under $10 million (via Deadline), became a box office flop, opening its run with roughly $1.3 million and ending it with approximately $4.9 million globally (via Box Office Mojo).

Moreover, it received a mixed-to-lukewarm reception on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie displays a 63% approval rating and a 73% audience score, which are neither abysmal nor remarkable.

The story follows two fish with contrasting personalities: Mr. Fish, a gloomy and introverted ocean pout, and Pip, a very energetic leafy seadragon. After their homes are destroyed, the pair embarks on an adventure to find a legendary fish capable of granting a wish and save their homes.

Nick Offerman and Nina Oyama star as the voices of Mr. Fish and Pip, respectively. Supporting cast members include Jordin Sparks, Remy Hii, Nazeem Hussain, Miranda Otto, and Amy Sedaris, among others.
