Olivia Rodrigo just shockingly popped up at an open mic!

The 23-year-old singer unexpectedly showed up at Pete’s Candy Store during an open mic night on Sunday (April 26) in New York City.

While there, Olivia performed her brand new single “Drop Dead,” the lead single from her highly anticipated new album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

The crowd had no idea it was happening, as documented in a video captured by musician Industry Monk, who wrote on social media: “was a pleasure to accidentally open up for @oliviarodrigo @petescandystore today #oliviarodrigo #oliviarodrigofans #petescandystore #dropdead.”

Olivia can be seen taking to the stage in the now viral video, casually performing the song along with a guitarist on stage.

If you didn’t know, she just dropped the song earlier this month to kick off her new campaign.

In an interview with British Vogue, Olivia discussed the inspiration for the song.

“I’m very stubborn and if I like someone, I’m like, ‘Yo, this is going to happen. This is rare! Let’s do it,’” Olivia said. “The person that the song is about is great.”

Some fans believe that the song is about Olivia‘s ex-boyfriend Louis Partridge. She was just spotted with someone new earlier this month.
