Priyanka Chopra is sharing the secret to her successful marriage to Nick Jonas.

The 44-year-old Citadel star stepped out at the New York City premiere of The Cycle of Love on Thursday night (August 20).

The documentary, which she executive produced, is about the story of Delhi street artist PK Mahanandia who traveled 6,000 miles by bicycle to reach the woman he loved, Charlotte Von Schedvin, in 1977. Mahanandia and Charlotte‘s children Emelie Mahanandia Von Schedvin and Karl Mahanandia Von Schedvin were also producers on the project, per E! News.

“Now they’ve been married for 50 years, and their kids are producing this movie with me,” Priyanka told E!. “Everything about it is so heartwarming, and just makes me feel like, in this crazy world right now, it’s this ray of sunshine.”

While attending the premiere, she also spoke to E! about her bond to Nick, and how much she cherishes his ability to embrace Indian culture and traditions.

“I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t,” Quantico alum said. “That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots.”

The couple have been married almost eight years now after tying the knot in 2018. Throughout that time, the Jonas Brothers member has helped his wife ensure their daughter Malti, 4, forges a deep connection to her Indian heritage by celebrating Hindu holidays and more.

Asked about how she and Nick maintain their love, Priyanka said it’s all about “being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important.”
