What happens in the Project Hail Mary trailer?

The video features Gosling as a science teacher who’s an expert on molecular biology. He has been chosen to go to space in hopes of saving humanity from the dying sun. During his mission, he unexpectedly forms a bond with a genius alien engineer, whom he calls Rocky. He discovers that Rocky has a similar mission to his. Because of this, they worked together to find a way to save both of their worlds. The trailer also highlights some of the movie’s thrilling space sequences.

Project Hail Mary is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaking duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller from a screenplay written by Drew Goddard.
