The final days of summer will not only clash with the addition of a host of much-awaited titles on Netflix but will also mark the departure of multiple celebrated TV shows and movies from the renowned streaming platform.

The titles leaving Netflix in the upcoming month include a slew of sci-fi classics, several animated fan-favorites, as well as a beloved comedy drama headlined by Marvel icons, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson.

Chef is leaving Netflix next month

Cinephiles with an active Netflix subscription plan who wish to catch their eyes on the Jon Favreau-helmed Chef should do so in the coming days, as the movie will promptly exit the streaming service’s library next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the 114-minute feature will be leaving Netflix on August 1, 2026.

Directed by the Iron Man star, the film also features Favreau in the leading role. It centers around the misadventures of Chef Carl Casper, who decides to leave his high-paying job at a prestigious Los Angeles restaurant after butting heads with its owner (Dustin Hoffman).

He eventually reunites with his ex-wife (Sofía Vergara), best friend (John Leguizamo), and son (Emjay Anthony), and decides to open a food-truck venture of his own. As things unfold, this massive career shift not only brings him closer to his love for cooking but also gives him a fresh perspective on life and love.

In addition to Vergara and Hoffman, Chef’s star-studded lineup also features Favreau’s MCU co-stars Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. The supporting cast is rounded out by the likes of Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Amy Sedaris, and Russell Peters.

Released in 2014, Chef performed considerably well at the worldwide box office, ending its theatrical run with a collection of over $47 million, as per Box Office Mojo. The movie earned rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, as evidenced by its 87% Tomatometer score and 85% Popcornmeter rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
