Silo Season 3 shocked viewers with an unexpected character return in Episode 4. Now, the Apple TV show seems to have plans for an even more surprising arc for them. In a recent interview, actor Tim Robbins opened up about the fate of Bernard in the ongoing third season following the interim mayor’s escape from death.

Tim Robbins teases big changes for Bernard in Silo Season 3

While speaking with Collider’s Steve Weintraub at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con, Tim Robbins revealed that fans should expect a completely different Bernard when he returns in Silo Season 3.

“I got a huge gift as an actor when I saw the scripts for Season 3, because it’s rare when you’re playing a part over an extended period of time that it gets to change and evolve so drastically,” the 67-year-old actor noted. “My character essentially has a revelation at the end of Season 2 that just propels him into a whole new way of thinking, new way of being. Physically, morally, mentally, spiritually, everything changes, which is rare as an actor to get a gift like that, and that was pure gold for me.”

Notably, right before the credits rolled in Silo Season 3 Episode 4, Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette Nichols discovered that Robbins’ Bernard Holland was, in fact, still alive. However, the episode concluded before explaining how the quasi-dictator managed to escape death, raising more questions than it answered. As such, the cliffhanger may be finally resolved when Episode 5 drops on Apple TV on July 31.

During the interview, Tim Robbins wasn’t the only one to praise Silo’s creator and showrunner, Graham Yost. Common, who plays top-level security enforcer Robert Sims in the series, lauded Yost for conceptualizing a season that tested his skills as an actor. Meanwhile, their co-star Jessica Henwick commended the Canadian screenwriter for sharing future Silo storylines with the cast instead of withholding them until the last moment.
