Horror movie franchises Smile and A Quiet Place are set to return with a shocking spin-off twist. No, they are not getting new installments, but something totally unexpected.

What are the new Smile and A Quiet Place spin-offs?

IDW Dark has confirmed that it will expand its horror universe based on Paramount’s scary films moving forward. The latest additions are Smile and A Quiet Place, both of which are set to receive new spin-off comics, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The Smile series saw the arrival of IDW Dark’s Smile: For the Camera, a five-part comic series that kicked off earlier this year. It showed the presence of Smile’s haunting entity in the world of professional fashion modeling. Now, a new spin-off comic based on the horror films, titled Any Given Smile, is set to arrive soon.

The five-part limited comic series is written by Eisner-nominated Stephanie Williams and illustrated by GLAAD Media Award–winning artist Pablo Collar. It will bring the Smile entity into the professional football arena. The first issue will be released in September 2026.

As for A Quiet Place, its first spin-off horror comic debuted in March. It was titled A Quiet Place: Storm Warning and depicted the aftermath of what happened on the small island town of Iowa following the monsters’ arrival. Now, a new spin-off issue, titled A Quiet Place: Rising Tides, will make its way later this year, in November.

The five-part series is written by Declan Shalvey and illustrated by artist Luke Sparrow. It will see the monsters entering Florida Keys, where a father and daughter attempt to survive aboard a houseboat.
