A new Supergirl TV spot highlights Krypto‘s first meeting with Superman. The powerful canine was first introduced in the DCU as the Man of Steel’s companion. Kara Zor-El picked up the dog before heading on her intergalactic adventure in this summer’s Supergirl.

What do we see in the new Supergirl video?

The international TV spot shows Kara and Krypto watching a video message from Superman asking when she’ll return to Earth, followed by a few reused shots from the film’s action sequences. Fans also get a glimpse of Kara and puppy Krypto’s arrival on Earth, greeted by Superman. They can be seen sitting inside a broken spaceship arriving from Krypton. Superman greets Krypto with a smile, saying, “He’s a feisty little guy.”

Krypto the Superdog has already become a staple of the rebooted DC universe. The dog played a major role in 2025’s Superman, where he was abducted by Lex Luthor before helping Superman defeat Ultraman in the climax. While Krypto’s adventures from that point on will continue in Supergirl, the film will also show more of the dog’s earlier life. Several shots from previous marketing footage have shown Kara and Krypto together on Krypton.

The upcoming movie will also put Krypto in jeopardy, staying true to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the graphic novel the film is adapting. DC has also kept the beloved canine in the spotlight with a new short released last year. Kara Zor-El is returning to the DCU in 2027’s Man of Tomorrow, and fans are expecting Krypto to follow, as the Superman sequel pits the hero against Brainiac.

Supergirl is directed by Craig Gillespie, whose screenplay is written by Ana Nogueira. James Gunn and Peter Safran produced the film. Supergirl releases in theaters on June 26, 2026.
