The Venice International Film Festival marks its 83rd year, and with it, a parade of unforgettable fashion moments. Every year on the island of the Lido di Venezia (Lido of Venice) in Italy, it sets the stage for red carpet looks that make history. This year the festival, spanning September 2nd through September 12th, brings an exciting slate of highly anticipated films and the A-listed premiere film.
Among the titles, the most generating buzz at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival is Danny Boyle’s “Ink” with Guy Pearce and Jack O’Connell, Florian Zeller’s “Bunker,” and Lance Oppenheim’s “Primetime,” featuring Robert Pattinson, led by the powerhouse duo of Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
From the very first day, Hollywood’s finest made their presence strong along the city’s canals. Jury president Maggie Gyllenghaal was seen wearing a beautiful dress by Celine looking effortlessly chic paired with Bvlgari Serpenti jewels on the opening night. Along with Claire Foy, she attended the screening of Ink and presented herself in a red monochromatic look by Bottega Veneta with Swarovski jewels and Christian Louboutain heels. The Jay Kelly actress Laura Dern, ahead of presenting George Clooney with his Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement hours, is dressed in a classic pink satin Prada dress. Amal Clooney, with her husband, George Clooney, dress and heels all custom from Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann.
Beyond the screen, Venice continues to serve as an early proving ground for fashion’s most visionary women, with the red carpet offering a preview of the season’s most talked-about collections before fashion month officially begins.
