Apple Corps will take over The Beatles Story in Liverpool in 2027 and move the attraction to a new city-center site in 2028. The expanded experience will be built at the former St Johns Market, opposite Liverpool Lime Street station, and will include a separate Yellow Submarine-themed viewing attraction at St Johns Beacon.

The new Beatles Story will occupy 100,000 square feet, more than four times the size of the current attraction at Albert Dock. Apple Corps says the multi-hour experience will combine original artifacts, immersive technology and reconstructed sets to trace the band’s path from postwar Liverpool and Hamburg to Beatlemania and international fame. Visitors will be able to enter recreated settings including the Cavern Club, Abbey Road, Shea Stadium and Savile Row.

Some sets and props from Sam Mendes’ The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be used in the attraction. Sony is scheduled to release the films in theaters worldwide in April 2028. The Beacon experience will offer panoramic views of Liverpool from the city’s second-tallest building and operate separately, with combined tickets available for both attractions.

Apple Corps, founded in 1968 to oversee the band’s creative and business interests, will run the existing attraction from 2027 before the move. The Liverpool site will be its second permanent Beatles experience, following a planned attraction at 3 Savile Row in London, expected to open at the end of 2027.

Every ticket sold for The Beatles Story will contribute to the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust, which is intended to support emerging Liverpool artists and local cultural projects. Paul McCartney said he was looking forward to the project. “I love Liverpool. It’s part of who I am, it’s part of who The Beatles are,” he said.
