The End of Oak Street‘s newest trailer is out now starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. The science-fiction survival movie promises a new and fresh way to catch dinosaurs on screen.

“After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings,” reads the film’s synopsis.

The End of Oak Street stars Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery. It is written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, and produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker are the executive producers for the film.

The End of Oak Street trailer review

The new trailer for The End of Oak Street pulls back the curtain a bit on the movie. While it was previously shrouded in mystery as to what the creatures in the movie could be, it’s revealed that they are what looks to just be regular dinosaurs. Throughout the trailer, we see the Platt family trying to figure out what’s happened to their neighborhood, before coming to find out they have somehow been transported to an unknown place filled with dinosaurs.

The trailer doesn’t highlight much of the dinosaur threat, but does feature a few key moments, including the reveal of a raptor-esque creature, as well as an iconic T-Rex showing up at the end of the trailer to chase the family around. As far as movies go, it’s unknown just how good The End of Oak Street will be, but it will, at the very least, give us a new way to check out dinosaurs on the big screen.

For too long, it felt like the only time dinosaurs would be showing up in movies was in the Jurassic Park franchise. While some movies have featured dinosaurs in the past, it’s nice to see a movie including them in a different setting like this. A sci-fi movie incorporating the creatures could make for a fun action blockbuster if done right, and this movie looks to be going that way.
