There’s a new Robert Langdon taking over for Tom Hanks!

The Gilded Age‘s Morgan Spector is set to play the iconic role from Dan Brown‘s novels in a new series, The Secret of Secrets, for Netflix.

In Dan Brown’s thrilling novel, symbologist Robert Langdon races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind. The series adaptation (currently untitled) will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, delivering on the heart-pounding suspense and international intrigue that has made the Langdon stories a global phenomenon.

Carlton Cuse, the showrunner, released the following statement about the casting: “Morgan is a truly wonderful actor whose work is always filled with intelligence, thoughtfulness and humanity.  He’s the perfect fit for Robert Langdon — a brilliant academic whose curiosity, intelligence and intellect are the tools of his trade.”

If you are not aware, Tom Hanks portrayed Robert Langdon in three films: The Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels & Demons (2009), and Inferno (2016).

And while nothing is official from Netflix just yet…we do have exciting news on the rumored female lead for the show!

While this new series does not have a release date at this time, the source material was released on September 9, 2025 and you can read the book now to get a clue of how the story will go!
