Ricky Gervais is set to reveal his top 25 David Brent moments from The Office. The co-creator of the hit workplace comedy and mockumentary will also share never-before-told stories behind each of those moments.

To celebrate The Office’s 25th anniversary, Ricky Gervais, who co-created the show with Stephen Merchant, will be giving fans a rundown of his favorite David Brent moments.

According to Deadline, “Gervais will present each of the 25 moments on his YouTube channel and said there will be never-before-told stories, the lowdown on the inspiration behind iconic lines, and the backstories on the scenes that nearly had to be abandoned because of laughter on set.”

Gervais’ YouTube channel will also feature content from his other shows, including After Life and his stand-up specials. The channel will also feature original content created specifically for YouTube. “I’m absolutely loving building my YouTube channel,” Ricky Gervais said. “It’s the best way to interact with my wonderful fans without leaving the house and actually bumping into any of those weirdos.”

Gervais conducts livestreams on Sunday evenings where he takes audience suggestions, with topics ranging from creative inspiration to veganism and AI in comedy. The streams include bizarre conversations built up while interacting with fans.

The Office was released on BBC Two on July 9, 2001. It follows: “A dysfunctional paper company in the heart of middle England, David Brent is a lower-middle-ranking manager in charge of a lower-middle-ranking office.”

The series also starred Martin Freeman, Mackenzie Crook, Lucy Davis, Stirling Gallacher, Oliver Chris, Ralph Ineson, Patrick Baladi, Stacey Roca, Joel Beckett, Julia Fernandez, and Elizabeth Berrington.

The top 25 David Brent countdown will premiere on Ricky Gervais’ YouTube channel on July 8, 2026.
