Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayViewers are eager to know whether Aemond really died after Alicent‘s cruel act against him in House of the Dragon. The shocking moment comes when Alicent meets Aemond in his chamber following their dinner conversation. While he appears to have suffered a brutal fate, the latest trailer suggests otherwise. Moreover, in the Fire & Blood book, Aemond’s death is far more tragic than what was portrayed in the latest episode.
Does Aemond die in House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7?
House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 7, titled “The Dragon in Winter,” featured Alicent giving Aemon a spiced wine, which was later learned to have been poisonous, which eventually led to his collapse. While Aemond seems to be dead, that might not be the case, as he returns in Episode 8’s trailer. This suggests that Alys might have saved him.
During the dinner conversation, Alys clearly warned Aemond that Alicent is here to harm him. However, Aemond debunked her concerns and asked her to keep her dark thoughts to herself. Later, Alicent heads to Aemond’s chamber after picking up a dagger from Ser Adrian’s body. She offers him spiced wine while they talk about Alys. She later asks him who he trusts. Aemond doesn’t answer that specific question but rather confesses that he tried to kill Aegon.
Shortly after, he stumbles across the dining hall as he tries to find Alys. However, he collapses eventually, which confirms that the wine was spiked with poison. Alys eventually reaches out and calls him an “idiot.” Meanwhile, Alicent, under the cover of darkness, escapes Harrenhal. Mostly, Aemond was saved by Alys.
According to the book, Aemond wasn’t killed in such a way but rather at the hands of Daemon for killing Rhaenyra’s son, Lucerys Velaryon. Daemon earlier hired assassins to kill him, but that plan failed miserably. Later, the duo engages in a final duel at Harrenhal. During their fight, when Daemon takes a leap from his dragon to Aemond’s, he takes his sword out, attacking the latter’s remaining good eye. In the end, they are both presumed dead as dragons fall into the lake below.
