Curious about what happened to Sheepstealer and Sunfyre in House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7? The latest installment delivered the show’s most intense dragon action yet, featuring a brutal three-on-one aerial battle and a shocking resurrection. With Rhaenyra hunting down Sheepstealer, Aegon making his defiant last stand, and Sunfyre emerging from apparent death, the episode reshaped the entire war.

Here is what happened to Sheepstealer and Sunfyre in House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7, covering their fates and what comes next.

Does Sheepstealer die in House of the Dragon Season 3?

Sheepstealer does not die in House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 7. Rhaenyra and Addam of Hull track down Daemon and Rhaena in the Vale. Caraxes, Syrax, and Seasmoke then corner the wild dragon in a brutal three-on-one fight.

Sheepstealer initially attacks Syrax before Seasmoke and Caraxes join the brawl. Caraxes sinks his jaws into Sheepstealer’s neck and delivers near-fatal bites. However, Daemon ultimately holds his dragon back from delivering the killing blow.

Sheepstealer crawls away badly wounded and unable to fly after the encounter. Rhaenyra flies back to King’s Landing with Rhaena as her captive. Sheepstealer’s survival likely sets up future storylines involving Rhaena, Daemon, and the wild dragon.

How is Sunfyre alive in House of the Dragon Season 3?

Sunfyre returns dramatically in Episode 7 to rescue Aegon from Rhaenyra’s advancing soldiers. Aegon refuses to flee and declares he will make his final stand as king. The dragon then emerges from the forest and burns hundreds of enemy troops alive.

Aegon screams with triumphant laughter while Tyland Lannister ducks to the ground. Larys Strong had already departed the group before Sunfyre’s dramatic arrival. The show suggests Sunfyre entered a healing coma after sustaining severe injuries at Rook’s Rest.

Notably, the dragon showed no signs of decay, unlike Meleys’s rotting corpse nearby. Aegon’s proximity and defiant courage may have awakened his bonded dragon from dormancy. In George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the dragon fed on dead soldiers and livestock during recovery.

Sunfyre’s return creates serious problems for Rhaenyra’s already fragile grip on power. Combined with Ulf the White’s betrayal and Aemond surviving Alicent’s poisoning attempt, Team Black faces mounting threats.

Only one episode remains in House of the Dragon Season 3.
