Paramount Plus has not released an official announcement and has yet to confirm the date, but, as per reports, the movie is expected to arrive on VOD and digital platforms next week.

When is Sonic the Hedgehog 3 leaving theaters?

Judging by past trends, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 could leave theaters in February 2025.

The movie had its theatrical debut on December 20, 2024, and is expected to stay in theaters for at least two months. Previous box office hits by Paramount in 2024 had an average gap of about 55 days between its theatrical release and arrival on digital platforms. For instance, A Quiet Place: Day One began playing in theaters on June 28, 2024, and left around 55 days later on August 22. However, it got its digital release a month before on July 30.

Similarly, Smile 2 enjoyed a theatrical run of around 55-56 days from Oct. 18 to Dec. 12, 2024. Thus, we can assume that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will follow the trend and could end up leaving the theaters on Thursday, Feb 13, 2025. But, being a big-budgeted box office success, it could stay in theaters for a week or two more.

It must also be noted that the number of theaters playing the above-mentioned films dropped significantly after the fifth or sixth weekend, and that might also be the case with Sonic 3. This means that January is likely the final month the movie will be playing in most theaters in North America.
