The White House is reviewing their security following the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner over the weekend. There is going to be a meeting to review the security for President Donald Trump, a senior official has just confirmed Monday (April 27). Keep reading to find out more… Trump defended the Secret Service’s efforts following an armed suspect coming to the dinner, which featured dozens of politicians and journalists, who managed to wound a federal agent before being stopped. A senior White House official confirmed that while President Trump “personally thinks they [the Secret Service] did an excellent job” handling the suspect and escorting him and his team to safety, there will be a meeting early this week to discuss “protocol and practices” for major events, per BBC. The meeting will be held by White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles with operations staff and Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security representatives following a third attempted assassination of Trump. “The meeting will discuss the processes and procedures that worked to stop Saturday’s attempt, while exploring additional options to ensure all relevant components are doing everything possible to secure the many major events planned for President Trump in the months ahead,” the official’s statement went on to say. Cole Allen, the suspect in the shooting at the 2026 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, has officially been charged.
