Whoopi Goldberg is mainly a talk show host these days, but she acts every now and then… and that time has arrived again!

The Oscar-winning actress and The View co-host just booked her next role and she’s joining a star-studded cast in the upcoming Netflix movie Women Like Us.

Whoopi will be joined in the movie by Vivica A. Fox, Vanessa Williams, and Jenifer Lewis.

The movie is set to be directed by Tasha Smith and written by Ginny & Georgia‘s Ali Kinney with writing from Tracy Oliver.

Here’s the synopsis: “When a recently widowed woman is dragged to the Hamptons by her lifelong best friends and sister on what should have been her 30th anniversary, the weekend becomes a reckoning, with grief, with marriage, with the sisterhood that’s carried them throughout the years, and with the realization that dreams don’t have an expiration date.”

Women Like Us is slated to begin production this fall in New York City. This will likely give Whoopi the opportunity to continue working on The View while filming the comedy movie.

Michelle Obama will serve as an executive producer on the movie, with her production company Higher Ground involved in the film.
