Tate McRae may have made the aftermath of her breakup with The Kid LAROI messier.
The "Greedy" singer, who split from the "Blessings" rapper in July following a year of dating, released a new single titled "Tit For Tat" Sept. 26—and fans are suspecting it's about their breakup.
“The day I met you, boy, I thought it was a blessing / In the heat of it, I always took your side,” she sang on the track. “It's a shame you out here tryna make it messy / Wow, you're messy, damn.”
Tate continued, “Let's go song for song, let's go back to back / Let's go tit for tat, boy, you asked for that / That's the best you got, where's the good one at? / I was never as far away as you thought.”
And if the lyrics weren’t cryptic enough, the feisty number was released just three weeks after LAROI (real name Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard) dropped his breakup song "A Cold Play,” in which he rapped about wishing he could fix someone.
Tate seemingly alluded to LAROI’s lyrics on her track, singing in the bridge, “Let's go song for song, let's go back to back / Fix your f--king self, kiss my a-- for that.”
Needless to say, fans were connecting the dots. As one user on X (formerly Twitter) put it, "rip laroi. he ain’t dead but tate mcrae just destroyed him in tit for tat."

However, LAROI has denied there’s bad blood between himself and Tate.
“Tate and I are on good terms,” he wrote in a text message to his team, per a screenshot he posted to X in July after he was accused of shading his ex online. “And this just looks messy / whack.”
The Australian emcee also said he had “NOTHING to do” with online criticism against Tate in the wake of their split.
“I DO NOT co sign this behavior whatsoever,” he wrote on X, adding that he was “working to get” hate messages about the So You Think You Can Dance alum removed.
