Sawyer Hemsley, the co-founder of cookie company Crumbl, is speaking out to deny accusations from TikTok star Grant Gibbs.

Last year, Grant‘s videos about Sawyer‘s sexuality led him to come out publicly. More than a year after that happened, Grant says he was uninvited from a Grindr Halloween event because Sawyer allegedly didn’t want him to be there.

Now, Sawyer says this isn’t true.

What Grant Gibbs originally said about the situation

“I was not invited to Grindr’s Halloween Pleasure Ball because the Crumbl CEO was invited. I was specifically asked to be taken off the list, allegedly, because Sawyer Hemsley was invited,” Grant said in a video. “Sawyer Hemsley, let’s talk. I really think it’s embarrassing for you at this point. I’m sorry. The best thing you could have done was work it out on the remix with me, but you don’t want to. Instead, you’re trying to blackball me from events now.“

Grant also called out Grindr, saying that Sawyer hasn’t done anything for the gay community, whereas he has been working with the brand since 2022 and it was special working with a “brand built for my community.”

Sawyer left a comment on Grant‘s video in response to the allegations.

He wrote, “Hey Grant, we’ve never met, but someone sent me your post and I wanted to reach out directly. Neither I nor anyone on my team ever asked Grindr to remove you from any guest list, and I’ve never discussed you or this event with anyone there, so I’m honestly not sure where that came from. I’ll admit the TikTok situation was hard for me at the time, but I’ve moved forward and hold no ill will. I hope this gets sorted out, and I wish you all the best.“

Sawyer also reshared his comment to his Instagram Stories.

If you don’t remember, Sawyer came out as gay in summer 2025 after Grant made a series of videos calling the businessman “so gay.” The TikTok star later apologized for his videos and commended Sawyer for coming out as gay publicly.

One month after coming out as gay, Sawyer introduced the world to his boyfriend and they are still dating today.
